Dans Restaurant, originally located in downtown Reading, PA, was opened in 1989 by Dan Gallagher and Dan Smith. The two Dans shared a goal of providing a contemporary alternative to the traditional Berks County dining scene. Purchased in 2005 by Bill Woolworth and Monir, the pair continued to grow the business beyond what the dining room could hold by offering great food with good service.

In October of 2012, Bill and Monir purchased Green Hills Inn at 2444 Morgantown Road and rebranded it Dans at Green Hills, its current location. It has continued to stand out as a premiere restaurant in the city of Reading, serving a contemporary American cuisine with a French influence.

Our goal is to provide a fine dining experience similar to what you would find in a big city like Philadelphia or New York, with a small town, family feel. We want our guests to feel welcome every time they come through our door. Along with our regular a la carte service, we offer private dining rooms, an outdoor patio with a rustic setting, and a small but charming bar.
